One of my favorite singer/songwriter/arranger/pianist/frontmen Donald Fagen (of Steely Dan) explains in this video how the verse for his 1976 hit “Peg” is his own finely crafted 12-bar blues. His harmonic ideas of “stacks of fourths” and add2 chords give this song such a distinct tone and character. Gooood stuff!
